DISTURBED Ready To Headline As OZZY Confirms His Shows
April 10, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: Nine of the 10 Ozzfest dates that OZZY OSBOURNE will headline have been confirmed, with Osbourne playing the festival's opening show on June 29. Osbourne decided not to headline the festival for the first time in its history after experiencing numerous health problems on last summer's trek. Co-headliners SYSTEM OF A DOWN and DISTURBED will shoulder the burden when Osbourne doesn't appear, and DISTURBED singer David Draiman says that's fine with him. "We're gonna play the same set that we always would, and it's gonna be just as intense," he said. "You know, that never changes. Is there some sort of feeling of challenge? Not really. We don't feel like we're filling in for Ozzy, because that's silly to even try. You can't. He's Ozzy Osbourne, there's no substitute for it. But we're just gonna do what we do."
DISTURBED's third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", was recently certified platinum for sales of one million copies. The set's current single is "Just Stop". Confirmed Ozzfest dates with OZZY OSBOURNE:
Jun. 29 - Auburn, WA - White River Amphitheater
Jul. 01 - San Francisco, CA - Shoreline Amphitheater
Jul. 08 - San Bernardino, CA - Hyundai Pavilion
Jul. 16 - Chicago, IL - First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre
Jul. 22 - East Troy, WI - Alpine Valley Music Theatre
Jul. 29 - New York, NY - Randall's Island
Aug. 01 - Boston, MA - Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts

Ozzy will also be playing one other Ozzfest show that has not been announced yet.
